Christians are to live as ambassadors of the king. We work for the good of the institutions God has given us, such as government, but we do not give them our ultimate allegiance. That belongs to God alone.
We are also to be concerned with justice. This is not just the rights of a person, but begins by asking what is right? Justice is applying God’s moral standards to human conduct. It sees every person as having value because they are made in the image of God. It is becoming aware of biases and injustices.
Our political hopes must always remain with the kingdom of God. We are to seek justice and love our neighbour and trust that political results are under the sovereign control of God.
